shipboard incubations

Measurements of photosynthesis and respiration for individual species will be scaled by their biomass in the ecosystem to estimate community production. Photosynthesis rates of algae, using oxygen evolution and carbon uptake, will be measured under a range of irradiances. The most common species within each habitat were brought to the boat to use for these incubations. This work was conducted by Ju-Hyoung Kim from Department of Marine Life and Aquaculture, Kunsan National University.
